Walkways & Parking

Athletic Fields of America builds walkways, parking areas, ADA-accessible paths, and site circulation for athletic facilities across the Northeast. The game-day experience starts in the parking lot — and the walkways are how spectators, athletes, and officials move safely through the facility. We design and build both as part of complete athletic facility projects.

What We Build

Our walkway and parking projects typically include:

Designed for Game-Day Volume

A high school football game or playoff baseball tournament can bring hundreds of cars to a facility that sits mostly empty the rest of the week. We design parking lots and walkways for that peak load — enough capacity for the events that matter, with circulation patterns that move people in and out without bottlenecks.

ADA-Conscious Design & Upgrades

All new athletic facilities we build are designed to meet current ADA standards from parking through field access. For existing facilities, we incorporate ADA improvements wherever project scope allows. That means:

Coordinated with the Full Project

Walkways and parking aren’t standalone scope. They tie into the field layout, the fencing, the bleacher placement, the lighting, the drainage, and the spectator flow. When AFOA handles the full project, the site work is designed alongside everything else — not added at the end after the field is built and the layout is locked.

That coordination matters for storm water management, sight lines, ADA routes, and the simple question of how spectators actually get from their cars to the bleachers.

Built for the Long Term

Asphalt and concrete don’t last forever, but the difference between a 5-year repave and a 20-year-plus surface comes down to the base, the drainage, the thickness, and the install quality. We use proper sub-base preparation, engineered drainage, and full-thickness asphalt or concrete — built to handle weight, weather, and use.
